Privacy Policy
This policy covers the public flymap.app website and the Flymap mobile app. It explains, in simple terms, what information is used, why it is used, and which services help us operate Flymap.

Overview
This page covers both the Flymap website and the Flymap mobile app. We use data to operate Flymap, improve the product, diagnose problems, and support purchases.
We keep data use as limited as practical and rely on a small number of service providers.
Website
- We process basic hosting data such as IP address, browser, device, and referral data.
- We use Vercel Web Analytics for website analytics.
- Articles are delivered through Sanity. Route features may use Firebase backend services.
Mobile app
- We use Firebase Analytics, Firebase Crashlytics, and anonymous Firebase Authentication for analytics, reliability, and app identity.
- We use PostHog for limited product and subscription funnel analytics.
- Purchases and subscription status are handled through RevenueCat and the app stores.
- Location data is used only for features such as live flight tracking when you enable them.
- Offline maps, preferences, downloaded route data, and similar app data may be stored locally on your device.
Why we use this data
- To run the website, route maps, articles, and app features.
- To improve reliability, fix bugs, and understand high-level usage.
- To support purchases, subscriptions, and restore access to paid features.
- To understand user behaviour and make product and pricing decisions.
Services and retention
Key service providers currently include Vercel, Sanity, Firebase, PostHog, RevenueCat, Apple App Store, Google Play, Mapbox, and content providers such as Wikipedia when those features are used.
Providers may retain data according to their own terms and retention practices. Local app data remains on your device until you remove it, clear app data, or uninstall the app.
Contact
You can choose not to use location-based app features, and you can remove locally stored app data by uninstalling the app or clearing app data where your platform allows it.
